Nike and Off-White Takeover the streets of London

If Off-White, “The Ten”, Virgil Abloh are not common to you now, where have you been? Virgil Abloh, creative designer/founder of Off-White, and Nike have put together a capsule of ten classic Nike silhouettes, deconstructing each one with a unique, sketchy feel rarely seen in the clean cut sneaker community. Check out what the collection looks like here.

Accompanying this release, Nike campuses have been popping up in major cities around the world, offering a chance for people to get involved in a variety of workshops and get their hands on a pair before they officially release in November. Individuals had the opportunity to attend talks with the man himself, Virgil Abloh, or to even have a go at curating their own Air Force 1.

Fortunately, I managed to secure a spot on the Physical Education class which involved a “Culture Run” that linked to the revolutionary running shoe, the “Nike Zoom VaporFly”. DJ Skinny Macho was the model for Off-White pair, as he lead the run alongside two Nike athletes. The run began at  Shoreditch and ended at the Tate Modern. After a brief tour of some of the most important pieces on show at the Tate, the race was on to get back to NikeLab and get your hands on a pair.

All in all, it was a great event for the culture of sneakers heads and I was lucky to have the opportunity to be a part of this history. Check a look at what I picked up below.
