Projects of the Week - 16/08/19

The trap-rap extraordinaire, Blade Brown, drops his fourth instalment of his Bags and Boxes series, once again providing soundtrack of trap living from the eyes of an OG. Blade enlists some of the scenes heavyweights to produce a project that creates a vivid depiction of the drug dealer lifestyle for the listeners' entertainment. Blade is unquestionably a legend in the scene, and any project is a must listen for rap fans across the country.

P.S. Giggs is a legend but someone tell him to stop doing hooks. Safe.

A$ap Ferg drops his new project, Floor Seats, bringing his unique style of New York Hip Hop. with the recent controversy surrounding A$ap Rocky's arrest in Sweden, it's good to hear some music from one the A$AP Mob's stand out members and with the likes of Rico Nasty, Brent Faiyaz and A$AP Rocky being featured, it is definitely worth 27 mins of your time.

Eccentric rap/singer/soundmaker Young Thug drops his first full solo release in two years, with the last being the polarising Beautiful Thugger Girls (definitely wasn't it for me). Thugger always provides creativity and consistent recreates his sound; making any release intriguing. Without a doubt, Thug birthed the sound of many new artists and this album is one for current hip hop/trap rap fans.

Malz Monday is a hot prospect in the rap game, bringing a more authentic hip hop sound and selecting lyricism over random mumblings and unintelligible melodies. For any fan of the older school or rap with more meaning, make sure you check out his new EP.

One for the smokers! Curren$y brings his brand of laid back, zoned out cloud rap to a new 7 track EP. Curren$y always remains consistent with his music and for anyone who wants some rap music to chill, vibe and smoke to, look no further.

Snoh Aalegra can really sing and her last project 'Feels' in 2017 was one of the most slept on projects of that year. She is one the most interesting singers currently active and I urge any R&B fan to go and check her out ASAP!

Quality Control is home to artists such as Migos, Lil Yacthy, Lil baby, etc and have released a 35-track compilation. you read right, 35 tracks that were probably not good enough to get on any of these artists albums. But, Nevertheless, if you're a fan of these artist, you are bound to find at least a couple tracks to make the car shake, so check it out if you have 2 hours to spare.
